Big chain restaurants profitting from skyscraper farms?

Date May 9, 2008

bigmacAll right, so I’m a bit stuck on this skyscraper farm idea. But it’s a REALLY GOOD idea. I was thinking about it some more today, and had yet another idea. What if big chain restaurants built and utilized these farms? Their pockets are certainly deep enough. They could get all the veggies they need and sell what they didn’t use (and if they wanted to be nice, give to charities and the homeless). Not only would customers get really fresh veggies with their food and salads, especially if they built them around the country, the PR the chain would get from doing this would pay for itself. Even if it didn’t, according to the estimated figures, they could recoup the cost of building and maintenance within 6 years. Less if the cost of grains and meat continue to go up, which I’m pretty certain they will.

Sounds like a great investment to me. So who’s going to pitch this to McDonald’s? (Although it’s a bit scary to think about them with the cow skyscraper farm idea, they could definitely use that as well…)
